Refund policy

F&R Bronze Company wants every customer to purchase with confidence. Bronze statues and sculptures are substantial, high-value works of art, and their size, density, and weight make professional packing, insurance, and transportation costly. Please review product dimensions, weight, finish, placement, and access requirements carefully before ordering. If you have questions, contact us before purchase at 1-800-664-4034 or sales@frbronze.com.

Returns of Eligible Standard Bronzes

An order containing one or two standard, non-custom bronze statues or sculptures, each weighing 75 pounds or less, may be returned within 30 calendar days after delivery, subject to the following requirements:

  • Contact F&R Bronze Company before shipping anything back and obtain written return authorization and return instructions.
  • After authorization, the return must be accepted by the approved carrier within 10 calendar days unless F&R Bronze Company agrees otherwise in writing.
  • The bronze must be unused, uninstalled, unaltered, and in its original condition, with all original components, documentation, packing materials, cartons, and crates.
  • The customer is responsible for arranging and paying all insured return shipping, freight, packing, crating, handling, and related transportation costs.
  • Because outbound shipping is included in our advertised product prices, the actual cost of shipping the order to the customer will be deducted from the refund.
  • F&R Bronze Company will provide the applicable original outbound shipping or freight cost when processing the return request. Customers may also contact us before ordering for an estimated shipping-cost disclosure.
  • The return must be shipped using a trackable, fully insured service approved by F&R Bronze Company. The customer bears the risk of loss or damage during return transportation until the piece is received and inspected by F&R Bronze Company or its designated return facility.
  • Unauthorized returns and collect-on-delivery shipments will not be accepted.

Bronze statues are extremely dense and can cost hundreds of dollars, or substantially more, to transport safely in each direction. The return privilege provides reasonable flexibility for eligible small orders, but it is not a trial or try-before-you-buy program. Customers should understand that the original outbound shipping cost will be deducted from the refund and that they must separately pay the full cost of insured return transportation.

Final-Sale Items

The following items are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund except for an approved shipping-damage claim:

  • Bronzes weighing more than 75 pounds;
  • Life-size and monumental bronzes;
  • Any order containing three or more bronze pieces, whether the pieces are identical or different;
  • Orders shipped to destinations outside the United States;
  • Custom, commissioned, personalized, modified, or made-to-order pieces;
  • Special-order pieces identified as final sale before purchase; and
  • Items that have been installed, displayed outdoors, altered, repaired, refinished, or damaged after delivery.

Large bronze sculptures require specialized crating, equipment, freight service, and site coordination. For those reasons, they are treated as custom or special-order purchases and are final sale.

Custom, Award, and Quantity Orders

All custom-manufactured orders are final sale regardless of the size, weight, or quantity of the individual pieces. This includes commissioned bronze statues, personalized pieces, awards, trophies, plaques, custom bases or inscriptions, modified designs or finishes, and quantity orders produced specifically for one customer. In addition, every order containing three or more bronze pieces is final sale, even when the pieces are standard catalog items. These orders cannot be returned or exchanged except for an approved shipping-damage claim.

F&R Bronze Company bronzes are handmade and hand-cast using the traditional lost-wax casting process. Custom and quantity orders require dedicated design, mold preparation, casting, chasing, finishing, patination, assembly, and production time. Because this work and inventory are produced exclusively for the customer, the pieces cannot reasonably be returned to general stock or resold.

For a first-time custom or volume order, we strongly recommend ordering and approving a single sample before authorizing the full production run. Experienced repeat customers often know the specifications and finish they require, but sample approval is the best way to confirm scale, details, patina, base, inscriptions, and overall presentation for a new program. Unless F&R Bronze Company agrees otherwise in writing, a custom-made sample is also final sale.

Before production begins, the customer is responsible for reviewing and approving all applicable designs, dimensions, quantities, inscriptions, spelling, logos, bases, finishes, patinas, and other specifications. Once approved and placed into production, a custom order cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged except in the case of a verified production defect or an approved shipping-damage claim.

Refunds for Approved Returns

After an authorized return is received, F&R Bronze Company will inspect the piece and notify the customer whether the return has been accepted. Accepted returns will be refunded to the original payment method for the eligible merchandise amount, less the actual outbound shipping, freight, packing, crating, insurance, handling, and related transportation costs incurred to deliver the order.

The customer's return shipping and related costs are paid separately by the customer and are not reimbursable. Any loss in value caused by damage, incomplete packaging, missing components, installation, alteration, or improper return packing may be deducted from the refund or may make the item ineligible for return.

Approved refunds are generally issued within 10 business days after inspection. A bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the credit.

Natural Variations Are Not Defects

Each bronze is individually finished by hand. Natural variations in patina, color, shading, texture, dimensions, and fine details are expected and make every piece unique. Patina is a chemical finish rather than paint and can develop or change naturally with age, sunlight, weather, and environment. Product photography, lighting, and screen settings can also affect the appearance of color.

These expected variations are not defects or shipping damage. An otherwise eligible standard bronze may still be returned under the requirements above, but the customer remains responsible for all applicable transportation costs.

Inspection Is Required at Delivery

The customer or an authorized representative must be present to receive and inspect high-value freight shipments. Before signing the carrier's delivery receipt or bill of lading:

  1. Inspect the carton, crate, wrapping, and visible portions of the bronze for damage. When the carrier permits it and it can be done safely, open the shipment and inspect the bronze while the driver is still present.
  2. Photograph the shipment from multiple angles, including any punctures, crushing, broken bands, exposed areas, or other signs of mishandling.
  3. Write a clear description of all visible damage on the carrier's delivery receipt or bill of lading before signing it. Do not write only "subject to inspection."
  4. Record the carrier's name, the driver's name or identifying information when available, the shipment or PRO number, and the carrier's damage-reporting contact information.
  5. If the shipment or artwork appears severely damaged, refuse delivery when permitted by the carrier and contact both the carrier and F&R Bronze Company immediately.

Signing for a visibly damaged shipment without noting the damage on the carrier's paperwork may prevent us from filing a freight claim and may result in denial of the customer's claim.

Reporting Shipping Damage to Bronze Statues

Visible shipping damage must be reported to the carrier and F&R Bronze Company at the time of delivery. Any concealed shipping damage that could not reasonably be identified during the delivery inspection must be reported to both the carrier and F&R Bronze Company immediately after discovery and no later than 48 hours after delivery.

To report a claim, contact us at:

The claim must include the order number, a description of the damage, photographs of the complete piece, close-up photographs of the damaged area, photographs of every side of the carton or crate, and a copy or photograph of the delivery receipt or bill of lading showing the carrier's damage notation.

Keep the artwork, crate, carton, pallet, straps, padding, and all other original packaging exactly as received. Do not discard packaging, move the piece to another location, install it, repair it, alter it, or return it without written instructions from F&R Bronze Company. The carrier may require an inspection.

Resolution of an Approved Damage Claim

After reviewing the documentation and, when required, completing a carrier inspection, F&R Bronze Company will determine whether the claim qualifies as shipping damage. For an approved claim, F&R Bronze Company may, at its discretion:

  • Arrange and pay for an appropriate repair;
  • Replace the damaged piece with the same or a comparable piece; or
  • Issue a refund when repair or replacement is not reasonably available.

F&R Bronze Company will provide written return or pickup instructions when transportation is required. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. Approved shipping-damage claims will not be charged return freight or restocking fees.

Damage claims may be denied when damage was not documented at delivery, required photographs or carrier paperwork are missing, original packaging was discarded, the piece was moved, installed, repaired, or altered before inspection, or the claim was not reported within the applicable period.
